Theophile the Younger came back from a weekend during which he could listen to and meet the spiritual guide Kamlesh Patel. He was very enthusiastic when he approached his friend Theophile the Elder:

– I have just listened again to Daaji‘s talks and it has increased tenfold my aspiration to be as close to the Divine as possible. It is as if my soul wanted to melt away into that divine vibration and be forever absorbed into God. What is the meaning of so strong a vibration?

The Elder – It always happens when you go very deep into your being. Such a condition may become a constant state. You just have to call it forth and there it is, even though the person is still living the condition of a human being. Blessed is the one who succeeds in living these two conditions permanently. In fact, there is no contradiction between both conditions; they are but different plans, each with their own operating rules. So the issue only consists in letting the deepest dimensions find their full expression within us.

Theo. – When I find myself in this depth, my ego will no longer interfere, and I have a great sense of freedom.

The Elder – The ego is related to subtleness: when the being gains in density and gets organized, it acquires its identity and shapes the ego, which will then manifest its presence. The phenomenon is natural and necessary. Conversely, when the being becomes subtler and more refined, the ego seems to be fading away, whereas it is in fact only melting into the Divine Will to which it is then totally devoted, which gives you that feeling of freedom.

Theo. – But what of the Divine Will? Is it not a super ego standing as a model for our dear little human ego?

The Elder – Here is the reason why the ego exists. God permeates every dimension of the being and the non–being. We are His creatures and, as we develop, we contribute to His Creation. Within us, His motion is now operating. By practicing, by allowing that essential dimension to operate within us, we develop our own creative power. It is somehow like a baby’s capacities, which develop as and when required for its physical, mental and emotional growth. A time comes when the baby can think by itself, connections having been established. Then the child will be able to elaborate his or her own theories. The intellect has appeared. And then, it’s time for the spiritual dimensions, when the being has to strive for allowing the necessary transformations to be achieved and for a convenient deployment to be facilitated. When at last the divine dimensions appear, there is nothing left to do. It’s Him who will now directly operate. The Being has attained its full maturity, its fullest potential: the Being has become identical to its Creator.

Theo. – I get the impression that what we call God goes not only far beyond my understanding but also passes my structural capacities, no matter how subtle they may be. For instance, how could an amoeba conceive the human world? Its structure doesn’t allow it. I have the feeling that my own structure has the same sort of limits.

The Elder – Yes, that’s right. It is the reason why human beings keep developing, thus expanding their boundaries over times and generations. We still have to go through a great many stages before reaching a correct understanding. Evolution takes time but it never ceases. It works in different dimensions, in a variety of sectors in the universe, which are all inter-dependent and are mutually supportive. That is what the development of the Creation means. It is what we call God: a perpetual motion around motionlessness.
We are made of emptiness, energy, light and matter. These elements are what the various plans of Existence offer to us. After that, it is all about dosing and even rates of distribution. The vibratory presence will have to take precedence, rather than matter, whose heaviness would slow the process down, though matter is what makes an incarnation possible.

Theo. – It makes me think of the Light Beings who are no longer subject to the hazards of incarnating. They are there to help humankind and they enjoy such a particular condition so that they may fulfill their mission. They probably are very advanced and subtle beings.

The Elder – Everything moves and changes constantly. Whatever stops developing is bound to disappear. It’s like the lump of clay the potter placed on his wheel to make a pot that will be baked and used for different purposes.

Theo. – Is that the idea of what service is?

The Elder – In a way, that’s what it is. Once baked, the pot is used to hold water, food or ashes for a certain time. Man is made of clay, which in due time will dissolve after it has been used. That is why we strive to refine ourselves, in order to become a pure manifestation of the Divine here on earth.

Theo. – I really wish I could become a Light Being! It must be fantastic!

– That will happen in due time, if it is ever necessary and possible, the Elder said, smiling.

Theo. – I still wonder about all the suffering the Masters have to go through. Is that stage a must?

The Elder – Masters suffer, but they are not affected in the way we are, since they have dissociated from their own structures. However, suffering is part of the path. It allows opening up to Love and compassion. Everything has its reason for being, as you know it.

Theophile the Younger could feel the Infinite Love the Elder had evoked cover him completely and his heart open up and shine. He was totally absorbed in a feeling no word could describe.
